Introduction to Adobe Photoshop

CS2 will be used for demonstration. In this class you can use the following versions: v.7, CS or CS2. CS3 just came out.

Develop basic interface control

Work with many selection tools, change selection edges.

Color: understand how Photoshop uses color.

Basic photo corrections: includes using color adjustment layers and direct adjustments.

Learn to work efficiently with layers.

Composite images – create and use images from other files.

Create/edit layers using Quick Mask and Layer Masks.

Retouch and repair tools, includes the Clone tool, Healing Brush, Patch tools.

Create and use a Gradients.

Create a pattern, a new brush, save in libraries.

Create and edit Type.

Create a simple clipping group.

Vector art: Pen tool basics.

Apply Filters

Resampling: image size and resolution; modes

Finally, pulling it all together!
