Sharron Evans
artist, illustrator, graphic designer, consultant, instructor

Sharron has always embraced the visual art world, whether bound in a frame, or as expansive as the eye can see. Raised in Fresno, CA, Sharron moved to Los Angeles and became a student at the L.A. Art Center. She now resides in and considers San Francisco her home. In the beginning of her art career (which began in San Francisco) she drew much of the inspiration for her artwork from the varied environment and diverse population of the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work encompasses a wide range of moods and subject matter - it may be realistic, serious, humorous, richly decorative, or conceptual and abstract.

As a fine artist, she has created over 60 limited-edition etchings. Over the years her exhibitions have grown to include watercolors, colored and graphite pencil drawings, pen and ink, digital artwork and other media. The last show was her 14th one-woman exhibition at the University of California Medical Alumni House in San Francisco. She has also exhibited locally and internationally in group shows.

Sharron has a keen interest in artwork by and for children. She has collected children's artwork over the years (from teaching children in schools and art programs). Sharron is inspired by and selects particular pieces - those that she feels are creative, joyful contributions drawn by children - and re-creates their wonder and joy so that others may appreciate the imagination of a child's creative, exploring mind.

With an MA in Instructional Technology she has developed many educational as well as art and design programs for both children and adults. She has extensive experience in instructional design, and develops courses that focus on design and image creation. During her MA program, Sharron developed products that were used as instructional materials for the graduate students: one was a 100-page print-based tutorial with 52 screen graphics on image creation; the other was an interactive training module for the development of visual and spatial skills called The Use of Space in Design.

Sharron taught at the San Francisco State University Multimedia Studies Program, The S.F. Art Academy, City College of San Francisco, the Regional Occupational Program in San Francisco and as well as at other colleges throughout the Bay Area. She was an art director on an ESL project that included 500 illustrations for ESL books that were used in Beijing, China.

She currently teaches computer graphics at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. She has been a graphics demonstrator at trade shows. Sharron also works on stories for children that are educational and entertaining.

Sharron has a business in San Francisco called Sharron Evans Design. She offers training/instruction, graphic and instructional design, illustration, consulting, page layout, and fine art.
